DINING
Cliveden has been a byword for fine dining and lavish entertainment for over three centuries, and this tradition still flourishes today. As one would expect there is an ample choice of rooms in which to enjoy the fine cuisine and faultless hospitality which has attracted numerous awards and accolades.
Lavish entertaining has always been a part of life at Cliveden. Edwin Lee, butler to the Astors from 1912 to 1960 recalled that in the Edwardian heyday “Dinners for between 50 and 60 were very frequent and probably two and three balls for anything up to 500 or 600 would be given in a season.” Remarkably little has changed in this regard. Our award winning kitchens continue a gastronomic tradition that has delighted the world’s most discerning palates for centuries.
